Common questions
Yes. You can switch from monthly to annual billing at any time. When you switch, the 20% discount applies to your next billing cycle. There is no penalty for switching, and your data and workpapers carry over without interruption.
A workpaper is a completed document for a single control in a single audit cycle. Draft and in-progress workpapers do not count toward the limit. If you reach 50 workpapers mid-cycle, you can upgrade to the Practice tier to continue without interruption.
We offer a structured onboarding pilot rather than a self-serve trial. During the pilot, we load your control matrix, connect your document storage, and walk through a representative set of workpapers with your team. This typically takes two to three weeks and gives you a realistic view of the platform against your actual controls.
The Practice and Enterprise tiers include a library of workpaper templates structured to meet PCAOB documentation requirements for IT general controls, financial controls, and entity-level controls. Templates are updated when PCAOB guidance changes. You can also upload your own templates and Petual will generate workpapers in your format.
When you cancel, your workpapers and evidence can be exported in PDF and structured spreadsheet formats. We retain your data for 90 days after cancellation to allow for a complete export. After 90 days, data is deleted from our systems per our data retention policy.
Multi-entity management is available on the Practice and Enterprise tiers. Each entity has its own control framework, evidence inbox, and workpaper archive. Cross-entity reporting for consolidated audits is available on Enterprise.
